On Sunday, we ate at the best Dim Sum restaurant in the DC area, Hollywood East Cafe in Wheaton MD. Hollywood East Cafe is consistently rated in the Washingtonian magazine as best Dim Sum in the area, top “cheap eats” and boasts a high Zagat rating. We were lucky enough to have April, Danny and Miles join us. April and Danny had returned from their trip to Mexico where they learned the native dances of land. Back to Hollywood East Cafe, this place gets pretty packed as the hours go on. The doors open at 10:30 AM and we were smart enough to meet at 11:00 AM. This is ideal because there are many tables and you get top choice of the carts. Here’s some of the fare that we dined on:

Pork bun Chicken Feet

Beef Tripe Shrimp in Rice Noodle

Shrimp w/ spinach Shrimp w/ scallop

Bean Curd Turnip

Shumai Chinese Broccoli

And some other dishes that I couldn’t find pictures for like April’s Taho (sweet tofu), Miles’ rice soup, and shark fin a speciality at Hollywood East Cafe. Luckily for the adults, Rex and Miles had their favorite dim sum dish of all:

Cheerios

The plan was simple, get there early and eat as much as possible before the kids start acting up. Well, it lasted a great hour and by that time we had every waiter and waitress asking if we were done yet because the place was packed. Overall, 3.5 out of 5 stars!
